Here's what most tanning gummy brands won't tell you:
The main ingredient in every tanning gummy is beta-carotene. The same pigment that makes carrots orange.
At the right dose, it builds a warm, natural bronze tone in your skin over a few weeks. Beautiful.
At too HIGH a dose? Your body stores the excess pigment. It shows up on your palms, your soles, and around your nose. You don't look tanned. You look orange.
This condition is called carotenemia. It's harmless. But it looks alarming. And it's the #1 complaint in reviews across almost every tanning gummy brand.
Most brands use 8mg or more of beta-carotene per serving. Clinical studies show that visible orange discoloration starts right around that range.
So why do they dose that high? Because "more" sounds better in marketing. Higher number = stronger product = easier sell.
But more isn't better when more turns you orange. 🥕
